The Beijing-based company ByteDance posted a statement on the official account on Jinri Toutiao and said about the accusation. Jinri Toutiao is a news aggregator app owned by ByteDance.

ByteDance said,

“ByteDance has always been committed to becoming a global company. During this process, we have faced all kinds of complex and unimaginable difficulties, including the tense international political environment, collision and conflict of different cultures and plagiarism and smears from competitor Facebook.”

Last year, Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook CEO, accused TikTok app of censoring political protest. However, TikTok denied it. Facebook did not respond immediately.

Recently, we saw a news Microsoft to buy popular short-video creating app TikTok in the US. The company Microsoft said that the talks would be concluded by September. The US President Donald Trump will give China’s ByteDance 45 days to arrange the sale of TikTok to Microsoft.
