Rumors about WhatsApp having a calling feature are making rounds on Internet, well it looks like they’ve finally implemented it but it might be still in its beta version, so it’s not out for the public yet. A user on Reddit had enabled this feature and posted a screenshot, so I decided to try. Well, the popular messaging service has now rolled out voice calling features in it’s latest Beta version.
Enable Calling Feature On Whatsapp
So follow these steps to enable Whatsapp Calling on your Android Device,
Requirements :-
- Root access [How to Root Android]
- Android 4.4 KitKat, but it seems to work better with Android 5.0 Lollipop. (Doesn’t Seem Necessary)
- Whatsapp (version 2.11.508 or up)
- Terminal Emulator
Enable Calling Feature On Whatsapp
- Make sure you have the right version of WhatsApp.
- Open terminal emulator on your android phone
- Type in the following:
su
am start -n com.whatsapp/com.whatsapp.HomeActivity - Whatsapp should now open with the calling feature enabled.
- If you want to call someone, the other person must have done the same thing (enabled this feature) in order for that person to receive your call.
