One of the most resistant to this change was Mozilla, which only now decided to also end its support for these two operating systems. According to the company, Firefox will lose support for these systems as early as June next year.
Firefox support on Windows XP and Vista were no longer comprehensive and new versions were already limited on these systems. Everything is due to the end of support and the lack of security patches, which leaves these systems vulnerable, as we have been seen.
Mozilla had already migrated users to the Firefox Extended Support Release earlier this year, thereby ensuring the necessary security updates.
Now in a posting which is posted on its blog, Mozilla has revealed that it is finally ending support for these two operating systems. Firefox for Windows XP and Windows Vista by June 2019 will lose all updates and security fixes. By that date, all updates will be maintained.
Mozilla recommends to all those users who are still using these operating systems and in these versions of Firefox that they should update their machines until that date. Then only the safety conditions will be guaranteed.
It was time for Mozilla to end support for Windows XP and Vista as these two operating systems are discontinued and unsupported, exposing them to security issues.
Still, according to statistics, Windows XP can still represent a slice of almost 6% of users, so they need to upgrade to newer systems in order to continue to enjoy the new features of this browser.
