Meet The World’s First Anonymous & Hack-Proof Mobile Communication System

In the United States, the Government is plagued with the security and hacking attempts that they are supposedly receiving from well-known big countries like Russia or China. Hence, now they have reached such a point that right now they are creating their own hack-proof network protocol through DARPA, known as RACE.

DARPA, of course, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, whose predecessor created the Internet, is currently in charge of developing technologies used by the US military, which often also derive in civilian use. Among them, we can find the Internet itself and the GPS (Global Positioning System).

Now, they want to go a step further, hence, they are currently working on a totally anonymous mobile communications system that would be resistant to any type of attack, or you could say a hack-proof communication system. RACE (Resilient Anonymous Communication for Everyone) would be based on steganography to hide the messages sent and their corresponding metadata.

Here are some features that the new hackproof communication system of DARPA will offer:-

  • Only the receiver and the sender can see the message (point-to-point encryption).
  • There is no metadata that allows obtaining information from the user, such as IP address or mobile used.
  • Messages remain within a single network.
  • You can not tell if a person is using the device to communicate unless the device is compromised.
  • Messages cannot be modified in transit thanks to encryption.
  • Messages should only be available for one minute when sent.

This system is being considered to be integrated into Android messaging applications, as well as in the system itself. Another use of this technology would be to help avoid DDoS attacks, and will also allow to avoid an attack of escalation of permissions. And not only that even it will also allow to avoid if a small vulnerability can endanger the security of the entire system.

To test RACE, of course, the new hackproof communication system, DARPA will simply create a prototype of 1000 servers simply to test it among 1000 users. The bandwidth between users and servers will be up to 500 Kbps, while the communication between servers will be up to 10 Mbps.

Basically, if we notice then it is clearly visible that the whole idea of RACE is very similar to the Tor, where this protocol will be ideal for all types of communication, from written messages to calls or financial transactions.

But, the fact is that RACE goes one step further, and also seeks to prevent it from being detected even when large-scale package analysis is used. Although in the name we see that it is a system created for “all”, but, the main beneficiaries of this system is clear that they will be the members of the United States Government, whose communications will be completely safe.
