The tech giant Google is determined to clean the house and take a firm hand in managing the destinations of its mobile operating system. Hence, the tech giant Google decided to end its support for the 7-Year-Old Android Market on Android 2.1 Eclair and below.
Google Ends Support For 7-Year-Old Android Market
We all know very well that the tech giant Google’s search engine is the most popular and best among all other. However, apart from its search engine the tech giant Google also has an another popular platform which not quite popular, as it is hugely popular, of course, Android. It is world’s most used and popular mobile operating system.
However, now it seems that the tech giant Google is determined to clean the house and take a firm hand in managing the destinations of its mobile operating system. After creating some policies for vendors to interact with Android and create tools for developers, the company is focused on ending fragmentation.
So, on June 30th, the tech giant Google will end its support for Android Market in all versions 2.1 or lower. But, hold on cleaning procedure may not stop here!
The software engineer on Google Play, Maximilian Ruppaner said on the blog post that “The change will happen without a notification on the device, due to technical restrictions in the original Android Market app”.
As with this decision, all users who own this version will no longer have access to it, and can not install any application through the application store of the tech giant Google. This change will come without warning because according to the tech giant Google, there are technical restrictions on the application that will simply not allow this.
Moreover, apart from all these things the software engineer on Google Play, Maximilian Ruppaner also said that “Android Market came with Android 2.1 Eclair seven years ago and most of the app developers are no longer supporting these Android versions in their apps given these devices now account for only a small number of installs”.
This was an expected closing. The Android 2.1 Eclair has been released 7 years ago and is currently present in less than 0.1% of devices and it is incompatible virtually in all applications.
Moreover, the tech giant Google also reports that it will support Android Market in the remaining versions although Google Play, the current Google store, which is currently available for all the versions 2.2 or higher.
But, here is one question arise that if the tech giant Google will ending its support for Android Market on Android 2.1 Eclair, then how the tech giant Google will continue supporting the later versions of Android Market on Android 2.2 and later version?
Let me clear this confusion clearly, till now it is clear that the tech giant Google simply ending its support for Android Market on Android 2.1 Eclair. However, the tech giant Google claims that it will still continue supporting the later versions of Android Market on Android 2.2 and later version, it is very simple, as they come with Google Play.
