Samsung Has Code-named Galaxy Note 8 As ‘Baikal’

Without any doubt, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is coming. There have been several rumors about the upcoming device from Samsung. After Galaxy Note 7 discontinuation, Samsung didn’t give up its Galaxy Note lineup, and the rumors now claim that the next Galaxy Note smartphone will be codenamed as Baikal.

The news has been shared by a tipster and was first spotted by Android Pure. Sadly, there is no information regarding the hardware of the phone. It only reveals that Samsung is working on a project that has been code-named as Baikal.

Well, the name might create confusion in most of the people, but let me clear you Baikal is a lake situated in southern Siberia which is also considered to be the deepest lake in the world. So, the code name would suggest that Samsung intends to implement some features.

To avoid Note 8 from overheating, Samsung is said to source batteries for the Note 8 from rival LG. Apart from these, the phone is expected to feature a 4K display and Bixby AI Assistant. The phone is supposed to have the latest chipset and improved S Pen Stylus features.

We will get to see the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 in the second half of the year, which is at least 5-6 months from now. So, it will be the bit too early to say anything for certain. Recently, DJ Koh, Mobile Chief at Samsung stated: “I will bring back a better, safer and very innovative Note 8.”
