New dating app lets you meet real people from your area via 30 second live video speed dates. Spin Labs today announced the launch of Spin the Bottle, its video dating app for iOS. A new take on the classic party game, Spin the Bottle reimagines the online dating experience with 30 second live video speed dates.

“With so many ‘swipe left, swipe right’ dating apps out there right now, we wanted a way to take people beyond the often misleading, perfectly manicured profile pictures and get them right to face time,” said Matthew Cohen, CEO and co-founder of Spin Labs. “Looking into someone’s eyes and having a conversation, even a 30 second one, can be much more revealing than reading a list of interests and seeing a gallery of heavily edited, perfectly filtered selfies.”

Spin the Bottle Video Dating App Launches on iOS

Spin the Bottle is just like the classic party game, only this time it’s with real people from your area who are looking to meet. The premise is simple: Players will give the bottle their best spin, and when it stops, they’ll enter into a 30 second video date where they can chat up their potential match. If they’re feeling the love, they can give their date a kiss and see if they return the affection. Two kisses and it’s a match!

Spin the Bottle lets you meet in real time using advanced face detection technology so that when no face is detected, the image is blurred out. With that mutual kiss, you’ll then be able to send messages, view profiles and do more video chatting right in the app. Users can also up their spin game with bonus features including Flick, Freeze and Direct Hit.

“Spin the Bottle has always been a game of chance, so we want users to feel that excitement as the bottle spins and they enter into these face-to-face video dates,” added Cohen. “It’s exciting and we think people are really going to love it!”
