As recently, on an event known as Qualcomm Summit, the giant chip manufacturer has announced its next upcoming flagship SoC, Snapdragon 845.
Finally! Qualcomm Announces The Snapdragon 845 Processor
When devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processors have not yet arrived, the company has already started working on its next model: the Snapdragon 845. Several reports indicate that Qualcomm has already begun development of its next SoC, which is expected to be manufactured 7nm and that possibly joins the high-end 2019.
Earlier, according to the information published in GizChina, TSMC would have started the process of 7nm in April, and they would already be testing with the first prototypes of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Its launch would be planned for early 2019, which fits us perfectly since it would come from the hand of the Samsung Galaxy S9 or the Xiaomi Mi 7, as it has already happened this year. However, if we notice then it is clear that Snapdragon 845 processors will be way smaller than 10nm processors, so, we can expect that both devices (Galaxy S9 and Mi 7) will be much thinner.
The undisputed protagonist of this year in the field of processors has been without a doubt the Snapdragon 835. This SoC, the most powerful till to the date, has set the bar very high in terms of performance and efficiency, so it is normal that we wait with the desire to its worthy successor as we already hinted earlier, and this is already among us: with all of you, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
The presentation has taken place during the Qualcomm Summit that is taking place right now, although we will have to wait until tomorrow to know all the details of the component. However, we do know some aspects that may interest you. Let’s go to the mess.
The Snapdragon 845 will tread very hard in 2019

We simply know that it would be a 10-nanometer processor and that it will include the same X20 modem to favour LTE gigabit connectivity. Little else we know at the moment, unfortunately.
During the presentation, the founder of the Samsung Foundry, a division of South Korean giant Samsung that manufactures the Exynos processors, had the opportunity to talk about the relationship between the giant chip manufacturer Qualcomm and the South Korean giant Samsung and the attention that the SD845 will receive.
In turn, Lei Jun, CEO and founder of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has pointed out that the company is working on a “premium smartphone” that will incorporate this chip, so we will be very aware of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, to see what they surprise us with.
Little more we can say about the new Qualcomm SoC. We may see some module dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, capabilities to encourage the implementation of facial recognition and, of course, an improvement in the autonomy of the terminals that incorporate it, but for that, we will have to wait.
