Facebook – You Have To Pay For Using Facebook Groups
The social network giant Facebook has recently announced that it has begun testing the subscription payment in the groups. The aim of this new feature is to offer managers the possibility of obtaining income to reward their work and effort since in many cases they share original and exclusive content.
After the Cambridge Analytica scandal, in his statements before the United States Senate, Mark Zuckerberg dropped that he did not rule out the creation of a paid version of Facebook. A few weeks after this, the rumors suggested that the subscription-free version of Facebook could be close.
Now, this new feature can help the social network to evaluate how users respond to the payment of monthly fees while allowing community managers to earn income to continue working for the group.
Specifically, what the social network giant Facebook is doing is launching a monetization tool for group administrators that will allow them to charge members a monthly fee that can range between $4.99 and $29.99. At the moment the social network giant Facebook is testing a selection of groups that will help improve the system with their comments and contributions, and soon the platform will offer more information about it.
One of the groups that forms part of this pilot test is Declutter My Home, a community of home management. Now, thanks to the new options of the subscription groups, members have access to exclusive content such as tutorials, live videos and much more information related to the topic that interests them.
Currently, on Facebook, there are closed groups created only for subscribers, where users can find the exclusive content of their interest. The problem is that the payment tools to access these groups are not integrated into the platform, which is why the company has thought about implementing its own monetization system.
After the initial tests, the social network giant Facebook promises to continue improving the experience to offer the administrators alternatives to obtain economic performance of their work. At the moment it is unknown if in the future it will be available for all groups or if it will be necessary to fulfill some requirement.
