Moto Z which is the successor of the original Moto X was first unveiled at Lenovo’s tech world conference in the month of June. Now Lenovo-owned Motorola will launch its first modular smartphone, Moto Z in India on October 4 and company has also started sending out media invites for the same.
Motorola’s Moto Z series is available in three variants that are Moto Z, Moto Z force, and Moto Z play. Lenovo-owned Motorola has just sent out invites for the launch of new Moto Z smartphone along with Moto Mods in India.
After the demise of Google’s Project Ara. Motorola’s approach toward launching a modular smartphone is sure to set a new trend. The three phones from Moto Z series will be a top-end flagship. However, the most appealing features are their modular design.
The main attraction of the Moto Z lineup is the 16 magnetic connector pins at the back where one can simply snap on ‘Moto Mods’. All Moto Mods snap easily onto any Moto Z phone using integrated magnets. They fit perfectly and securely, and you can swap Moto Mods in a snap. Simply you can swap mods to improve phone’s functionality.
Moto Mods include a Moto Instant-Share Projector, JBL SoundBoost, Moto Shells, and instant Power Pack. The company introduced Hasselblad True Zoom Moto Mod with 10x optical zoom and Xenon flash. Let’s have a look at Moto Z specifications

Moto Z Features a 5.5inch Quad HD AMOLED Display and will run on Android version 6.0.1 (Marshmallow). It will have 4GB RAM and users will get the option to choose between 32/64 GB Internal storage it comes up with Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU and is backed up by a 2,600mAH battery. It has 13MP primary camera and a front facing camera of 5Mp with LED flash.
The smartphone will have the fingerprint sensor on the front and comes up with a water resistant coating. It will have latest USB Type-C connectivity. The phone will support 4G LTE services.
The Moto Z unlocked version went on pre-order in the US for $699.99 which is approximately Rs. 46700 this week. Therefore, we could expect that the price will be somehow same when it comes to India next month.
