Killer Robots? Musk And Zuckerberg Clash Over The Dangers Of AI

The Artificial Intelligence is called to be the breakthrough of our century. Adventure changes so big in our society, which also carry great dangers. Dangers not seen in the same way by the great technology gurus.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, and creator of Facebook, and Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Space X, have faced these days in social networks for their different vision of the dangers of Artificial Intelligence. A fight that only serves to sow more doubts about the future of technology.

Elon Musk has long warned of the danger that artificial intelligence will become too intelligent because of the lack of control, and there will come a time when it escapes our hands and we can no longer control it. If an artificial intelligence becomes smarter than us and pursues interests different from ours … Who holds it? Computers today control nuclear power plants, the water supply or the traffic lights of cities. What if an artificial intelligence becomes an accomplished hacker? They are dangers that not only has put on the table Elon Musk, one of the greatest visionaries of our time.

In one of his famous Facebook Live in the garden of his house, Mark Zuckerberg answered a few days ago a question about artificial intelligence. He said the following about Elon Musk: “I was watching the other day an interview with Elon Musk, and his biggest fear for the future is Artificial Intelligence.” I am optimistic. I think you can build things to create a better world. Which tries to create apocalyptic scenarios, I do not understand. It is very negative and in certain aspects, I think it is very irresponsible.

Someone gave Elon Musk these comments on Twitter, and he responded on the social network today: “I have spoken with Mark about this subject. His knowledge of the subject is limited.”

The reality is that all technology companies are integrating artificial intelligence into all their products. Especially the tech giant Google and the social network giant Facebook, who already use it in projects of great depth like improving health care or creating autonomous cars, projects that can save thousands of lives.

But they are also integrating it into their social networks to facilitate searches, view the content of the photos, interpret what users are doing (and therefore get more information about us), and find it inconvenient to speak negatively about the Artificial Intelligence.

Elon Musk is also one of the pioneers of this technology, using it massively in the intelligent driving of his Tesla electric cars, or in the space rockets that refuel the International Space Station, and will travel to Mars in the future. But his vision of Artificial Intelligence is much more pessimistic and alarming.

Who has the reason?

The Artificial Intelligence is still in its infancy, and it is very difficult to predict how it will evolve. It is not a question of opinion, but of having in your power the tools of the creation of artificial intelligence more advanced, to know what can be done with them. Something that only knows in depth some privileged, among them, Zuckerberg and Musk. We share the optimism of the founder of Facebook vision, but when true visionaries like Elon Musk and Bill Gates, who are developing the most advanced AI in the world in their companies, or one of the most advanced minds of our time, Stephen Hawking, warn the Dangers of Artificial Intelligence. So, should we take it very seriously!!!

Now the problems of Artificial Intelligence are others. It may not yet be able to destroy Humanity, but it is being used right now to spy on us, to control us or to make racist and sexist comments.
