Start A Windows 10 Computer By Just Saying “Hey Cortana”

Microsoft and Intel are working to make Cortana so much powerful that you can make the personal assistant able to even turn on your computer. Of course, Microsoft’s OS and Intel’s CPU combination has reached almost every corner in the world where the name computer is familiar to the people.

According to a lengthy post from Intel, they claimed about their collaboration with Microsoft that Cortana is one of their key focuses right now and both the companies have been working on speech recognition and voice activation.

In the blog post, Navin Shenoy who is Intel’s SVP of the client computing group has elaborated the plans and future prospects both the companies have been working on. Navin Shenoy shared an idea of what could be the future of voice assistant Cortana and its use to control computers running Windows 10.

He claimed that the future computers would have capabilities to wake the computer from Modern standby mode. Therefore, you just need to say “Hey Cortana” to your PC across the room and have Windows 10 booting. However, it had some limitations- Cortana can only work when your Windows 10 PC is awake.

Intel said in the post “We see a world of opportunity with artificial intelligence as well. Our engineers have been working closely with Microsoft to add far-field speech recognition and improved voice activation to PCs, making them much more intuitive”

“Soon, you’ll be able to speak to your PC from a distance and access all of your information on the device and in the cloud. You’ll also be able to wake up the PC from modern standby, whether open or shut, with a simple phrase, ‘Hey Cortana.’”
