What if I ask you all that which browser uses the least battery of your notebook or laptop? Today in this article I have the answer. According to the latest reports, in a battery life challenge, the tech giant Microsoft’s Edge browser beats Chrome and Firefox.

Battery Life Challenge: Edge Beats Chrome And Firefox

Which browser uses the least battery of your notebook or laptop? A test run by the tech giant Microsoft shows that the default Windows browser, of course, I am not talking about the Internet Explorer, as I am talking about Microsoft Edge, beats the tech giant Google’s Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for a few hours when it comes to streaming video.

From best to worst: the tech giant Microsoft’s Edge browser lasted 14:20 minutes on the drums, while the tech giant Google’s Chrome web browser survived for 12:32 minutes (13% less than Edge) and Firefox held only 7:15 minutes on the drums (49% less than Edge).

The results have already been worse for Chrome: in another test (which included Opera) made in 2016, the Edge was 70% longer than the Google’s Chrome browser, surviving for 7:22 minutes on the drums, while Chrome held only 4h19min and it was the worst of the four.

As Ars Technica recalls, the tech giant Microsoft’s Edge advantage over Chrome has been declining over time. In April last year, the tech giant Microsoft’s browser outperformed the tech giant Google’s Chrome browser by 35 percent, and in January the difference dropped to 19 percent. In this last test, it is only 14%.

It is worth mentioning that these tests from the tech giant Microsoft have already been the subject of controversy. The Linus Tech Tips channel made a similar comparison and the results show that Chrome fared better than all browsers, including the tech giant Microsoft’s Edge.

The Linus video explains the methodology in more detail, and its tests cover web browsing, not just video streaming. The results from YouTuber show that both Chrome and Edge lasted an average of 5h46min on the drums, but Chrome had a better time of 6:08min.
