If you are using Microsoft Windows then you might be familiar to the keyboard combo that is Control + ALT + Delete. This is one of the most iconic keyboard combination that every Windows users have used it once in their lifetime.

However, do you know Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates had admitted that pressing Control + ALT + Delete to log into a PC was a mistake? During an interview at a Harvard fundraising campaign, he discussed his early days at Microsoft and about the CTRL + ALT + DEL decision.

Bill Gates stated that the key combination was designed just to prevent other apps from falsifying the login prompt and stealing credential data. Bill Gates said:

“It was a mistake, we could have had a single button, but the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn’t wanna give us our single button.” It was David Bradley, an engineer who worked on the original IBM Pc, invented such combination.

David Bradley has invented the combination to reboot a PC, he said in an interview “I may have invented it, but Bill made it famous” Well, the key combination still works in Windows to lock a computer or to run a Task Manager.
