Recently, Edward Snowden who is one of the most controversial figures of recent times has stepped forward to declare his opinion on Zcash and calls it the “Most interesting Bitcoin alternative”
Well, let me tell you Zcash is much more similar to Monero and other cryptocurrencies that claims to encrypt user data for greater security. What makes Zcash different is it grew out of the Zerocoin project. So, with this, all the information will be encrypted, and users will get a promise of a deeper sense of security.
On the other hand, Bitcoin is based on the decentralized blockchain, you can follow anyone’s bitcoin address and track their transactions and movement of the money. Zcash is powered by zk-SNARK (zero-knowledge succinct Non-interactive Argument of Knowledge). It could be seen as a new kind of “zero-knowledge cryptography”. Zero-knowledge cryptography makes Zcash fully encrypted.
Right know, Zcash is trading around $280, making it the 14th largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. As we already mentioned, Edward Snowden also praised Zcash by calling it the “most interesting bitcoin alternative”
Edward Snowden was replying to a tweet from technologist Mason Borda, who said: “Zcash is the only altcoin designed and built by professional and academic cryptographers. Hard to ignore”
