Mozilla Firefox is unquestionably one of the best browsers of today. Although not the most used worldwide, this browser has evolved significantly both by performance level and functionality level.

Recently, Mozilla released the new version of its browser “Firefox 52” which is even faster, robust and secure.

The latest version of Firefox includes a number of interesting new features, including support for the new WebAssembly standard, which lets you run web apps that closely match native apps, as well as alert users when a page with a form has no HTTPs.

This release also brings support for multiprocessing architectures on PCs with touchscreen displays.

But what is WebAssembly?

According to Mozilla itself, this new standard guarantees fantastic performance in the 3D application browser, games, complex and heavy audio and video applications. In this way, Mozilla claims to be very close to achieving the same performance when using native apps (which need to be installed on the system).

Firefox 52 for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android already have support for WebAssembly. If WebAssembly fulfills what Mozilla says, Web apps may now finally offer real competition to the apps developed for mobile devices. After installing Firefox 52, click here to test the WebAssembly.
