Well, Android Nougat had already geared up and started to roll out in more and more devices. Have you ever wondered what will be the next dessert that Google will serve the Android Community?

The current version of Android is Android N “Nougat.” So, if Google follows the history like it always did then undoubtedly the next version of Android will be called Android “O, ” and Google always named their Android versions after a dessert/snack.

Well, it will be worth mentioning that Android Nougat hasn’t even rolled out to the majority of the devices. Hiroshi Lockheimer, Android’s senior vice president, had already teased about the upcoming Android version and have given us a hint what “O” might stand for.

Hiroshi Lockheimer had posted the GIF image in Twitter which clearly shows some dessert with a ring of Oreo cookies surrounding it. After this tweet, users had already started to believe that the upcoming Android 8.0 will be codenamed Android O “Oreo.”

According to the reports from Phone Arena, Hiroshi Lockheimer had already trolled us earlier this month. He teased Android “P” with a simple tweet that read “#2019”. Well, for those who don’t know about Pocky, it’s a traditional Japanese stick-shaped snack.

Well, if we go back in June 2016, Hiroshi Lockheimer had hinted that the upcoming Android N would be codenamed “Nutella.” However, in the end, the final codename for Android 7.0 turned out to be Nougat.

No official statement has been made yet regarding the upcoming Android version. So, in the meantime, do you like the idea of “Oreo” as the codename? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
