Google Instant Search Is Dead!
Without any doubt, world’s most used search engine is Google and is expected to be so for much longer because it is the best among all other. Well, Google also offers lots of free services like Gmail, Maps, Calendars Google Drive etc.
We must admit, that nowadays, most of our online activities rely on Google services, even our most important data are stored on Google servers. The reason why we are talking about Google is that the search giant has just decided to do away with its Instant Search completely.
In the year 2010, Google’s them-VP of Search Products Marissa Mayer launched Google Instant. Merissa Mayer called this change a ‘fundamental shift in search’. Google Instant search let users save precious seconds each day by loading the search results dynamically while they type in the search box.
The reason why Google is killing the Instant Search feature is that with passing time, a majority of the search volumes are shifting towards mobile. The Instant Search just isn’t appropriate for mobile browsing.
According to the reports from Search Engine Land, a Google Spokesperson told them “We launched Google Instant back in 2010 with the goal to provide users with the information they need as quickly as possible, even as they typed their searches on desktop devices. Since then, many more of our searches happen on mobile, with very different input and interaction and screen constraints. With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices.”
So, from now if you type in Google search box, you will only see search suggestions. Users need to click on those suggestions to see the results. The search result will not load anymore without clicking on a search suggestion.
