We all know that the tech giant Google has a habit of trying to meet the application needs of its Android ecosystem. Hence, recently, the tech giant Google just launched a new extraordinary application for its own operating system Android.

Google Just Launched A New Extraordinary App For Android

The tech giant Google has a habit of trying to meet the application needs of its Android ecosystem. There are several applications that are in the store and have no competition to match.

Its latest proposal is the Android Samba Client, a Samba client that could help many users. There is, however, a matter of preventing it from being used and showing a strange Google behavior.

Whenever you can and whenever you need it, Google takes on your role and gives users the apps they need. This seems to have been the motivation for creating and making available the Android Samba Client.

The new Android Samba Client by Google

The Android Samba Client is a Samba client that any Android user can use to access Windows partitions, whether they are protected with username and password or free access.

Like any other file explorer, the Android Samba Client allows you to navigate and manage the files after connecting to the server. You can also download these files to Android and store them in Drive or any other cloud.

The Android Samba Client code is free

Because the Android Samba Client runs away from Google’s line of apps, the company decided to make the source code of this application open and posted it on Github.

It is guaranteed that user protection is a certainty and anyone can evaluate this code, making Android a more secure and reliable platform.

The Big Problem of the Android Samba Client

Everything seemed perfect and smoothly for the tech giant Google and the Android Samba Client, but a crucial problem is still there. This application can bring problems like WhannaCry or NotPetya because it uses SMBv1, which was the cause of the recent problems. Interestingly, this version 1 is only supported. The following versions are simply not supported.

It’s strange that the tech giant Google has launched an application that leaves users exposed to two problems so serious and worrisome. The whole community and much of the Internet is seeking to disable once the SMBv1.

Even with all these situations, the Android Samba Client is available in the Android application store and can be used to access all of the Windows shares that are on your network to access the files you need.

However, if you want to download the application for your Android device then simply click here to download it.
