Using Reliance Jio? Your Personal Data Might Have Been Leaked!

If you are from India, then you will know about Reliance Jio. The company is offering high-speed internet for free along with free calls and SMS to any network.

Without any doubt, Reliance Jio had dominated the telecom section in India. Right now, Jio Prime subscribers are enjoying the Summer surprise offer which is also free. But, the free streak is about to end this month.

If you are Reliance Jio user then this news is going to hurt you. The private data of millions of subscribers of Reliance Jio have been compromised. The latest hack reveals subscriber’s name, mobile number, email and SIM activation details.

It’s being said that the SIM activation details have been revealed, which means that the highly-critical Aadhaar data of millions of customers might have been breached. However, there is no confirmation on the same.

The hack was first spotted by fonearena. Fonearena claims that they saw the details on the website goes by the domain magicapk.com. The website has been suspended now, but the website showed customers’ full name, registered phone number along with the activation date and time.

Reliance Jio spokesperson said “We have come across the unverified and unsubstantiated claims of the website and are investigating it. Prima facie, the data appears to be unauthentic”

“We want to assure our subscribers that their data is safe and maintained with the highest security. Data is only shared with authorities as per their requirement. We have informed law enforcement agencies about the claims of the website and will follow through to ensure strict action is taken.”

Several reports claim that the details of over 120 million subscribers of Reliance Jio were available when the matter was first identified. However, the Aadhaar card number was still not open.

It looks like Government can step into this matter because there is a concern about the leakage of Aadhar details. However, there is no clear evidence on this matter yet.
