Now almost everyone uses Windows operating system. All Windows 10 users must be knowing about Windows defender which is a free security tool installed by default on your computer.
The reason why we are talking about Antivirus solutions is that security institute AV-Test have performed a new research which involves a total of 18 internet security solution and was conducted between January and June 2017.
According to AV-Test, 13 internet security products have managed to obtain 16 points out of total 18 points. Kaspersky Internet security topped the list with a total of 18 points, as it received 6 points for protection, 6 points for performance and 6 points for usability.
Symantec Norton Security and Trend Micro Internet security are following Kaspersky by scoring 17.8 points. Both of the security solutions received 6 points for protection and performance, but only 5.8 points for usability.
If we talk about free antivirus solutions, Avast free antivirus managed to score a total of 16.5 points: 6 points for protection, 4.7 points for performance and 5.7 points for usability. It looks like Windows defender was way behind Avast, Windows Defender scored just 15.5 points: 5.2 points for protection, 4.8 points for performance and 5.5 points for usability.
Comodo Internet security premium was the lowest scorer in the list, it had received just 13.6 points. Av-Test concluded by saying “The internal protection solution from Windows, Defender, at 15.5 points finishes among the last products at the bottom of the table. Thus, the product’s only claim to fame is that after all, it is better than the package from Comodo,”
