The well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, I am talking about Huawei has already started to introduce its new Kirin 980 built with 7nm technology. In which the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, Huawei is able to put 6.9 billion transistors per cm2, which results in a 20% increase in performance and 40% in its energy efficiency compared to the 10nm process.
We are facing the first processor to use the new Cortex-A76 cores, which are 75% more powerful and 58% more energy-efficient compared to the previous generation.
While the new flagship SoC of the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, Huawei’s Kirin 980 has 2 + 2 + 4 cores – 2 Big (Cortex A76), 2 middle (Cortex A76) and 4 small (Cortex A55), which will be called for processing according to performance requirements.
The AI in the new Kirin 980
The Kirin 980 has 2 NPUs (Neural Processing Units), which can further increase the processing dedicated to AI (Artificial Intelligence).
According to the brand, there is a 135% improvement in the power associated with AI (Artificial Intelligence), being able to recognize more images – 4500 per minute! The brand points to a 120% improvement over its previous processor.
Moreover, the new flagship SoC of the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, of course, Huawei’s Kirin 980 still brings the first modem with support for LTE Cat.21. This new modem can give access to the Internet of 1.4Gbps and not only that even this new Kirin 980 SoC also has support for 5G as well.
