Lenovo Recalls 83000 ThinkPad Carbon Laptops Due To Severe Fire Hazard

We all know very well that the well-known giant Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo launched the fifth generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon, but, this week the well-known giant Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo revealed that these laptops have a problem that can damage the battery and potentially cause a fire. Hence, the well-known giant Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo recalled 83000 ThinkPad carbon laptops.

Last year, the well-known giant Chinese smartphone and PC manufacturer, Lenovo launched the fifth generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon. This week the company, of course, well-known giant Chinese smartphone and PC manufacturer, Lenovo has revealed that it has a problem that can damage the battery and potentially cause a fire.

The well-known giant Chinese smartphone and PC manufacturer, Lenovo is recalling ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5th generation laptops manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017.

Basically, a loose screw can cause a short circuit in the laptop battery, causing it to overheat. This is “a lapse in the manufacturing process that Lenovo engineers have already corrected,” the company says.

Here’s what the company explains:-

“A small loose screw, left in the unit during fabrication, can damage the polymer battery surface of lithium-ion and cause a short circuit, leading to the rapid discharge of battery cells”.

Lenovo says that it “has received three international client reports about a condition of overheating related to a loose screw that has resulted in damage to customers’ laptops.”

Therefore, “customers should immediately stop using the affected computers” and should take the laptop to the service centre, which will remove the loose screw to solve the problem. Moreover, the procedure is free.

To find out if your laptop has been affected, take a look at the labels below the laptop. The recall affects the “5th Generation Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon”; of the types 20HQ, 20HR, 20K3, 20K4; manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017.
