This Man Received a Rs 1,86,553 Bill For Using Airtel, He Has No Idea Why

India’s leading telecom player, Bharti Airtel is in noise for yet another wrong reason. Recently, Bharti Airtel served a bill of huge Rs 1,86,533 to one of its customers leaving him infuriated.

New Delhi-based Nitin Sethi has received a bill of Rs 1,86,533 from Airtel and he has been asked to pay the sum quickly. According to the reports from India Today, the bill has been generated for the period between June 8 – July 7, 2017. The bill claims that Nitin has used the services worth Rs 1,52,727 during this period.

Nitin Sethi claimed that he has no idea on what’s going on in the first place, even more so when the bill clearly says that he has the credit limit of Rs 14,000 going behind which he should get a call from the company.

Nitin Sethi was a frequent traveler, he claimed that when he was traveling to Dubai with his family in June, he had initiated an international roaming pack for the 10-days. Nitin also claimed that this was the first time he is using the services of Airtel. Previously he had been using International SIM cards from Matrix.

According to Airtel, once you are inside your home network, the company will stop charging you in terms of International rates. However, a ‘technical glitch’ in My Airtel app resulted in the service still being activated when Nitin returned India.

Nitin said that he called Airtel and told the incidence to them, he was told that it was due to a technical glitch and it will be fixed soon. No bill was generated, on his account back then. Last week, he says, the bill got generated and he was asked to pay Rs 1,86,553 immediately.

Without wasting any time, he called Airtel customer care where he was again told that it was due to an error, only this time around, he was told to pay the bill and everything would be settled later. After this, he started to receive calls from telecom operator forcing him to pay the bill or the service will be terminated.

Nitin decided to take all these matters to social media so that his voice could be heard by top-level Airtel executives. Nitin was now been told by Airtel that the error will be corrected in next four days.

Here’s what Nitin Wrote in Social Media:

“Hi,

This is Nitin Sethi. I have taken fixed international roaming pack for Dubai from 2nd -11th June (Rs. 2999/- with 10 days validity). I have given a call back once I came back on 11th to stop roaming. Now, suddenly my bill for last month is some 1,86,553/- (one lakh eighty six thousand five hundred fifty three). I have raise this complaint twice last month but still no resolution. Please look into this and fix the issue asap.”
