OnePlus Has Taken iPhone Copying To A Whole New Level
Apple on the iPhone X took a bold step by removing the main button and making the entire user experience dependent on the smart gestures that the brand has grown over the years.
Although the new iPhone has been the subject of much criticism, the truth is that it has become an inspiring model. OnePlus has taken a lot of inspiration from iPhone X to create new smart gestures serving OnePlus 5T.
Criticism gives way to inspiration
After being released, many voices criticized the price of the iPhone X, a few days later, some brands announced terminals with prices to go around and surpass the Cupertino company’s latest iPhone.
The screen of the iPhone X was criticized for bringing a “Notch” which contains a group of sensors important to the performance of the smartphone. However, market development shows that manufacturers are embarking on a similar or even less creative solution to screen occupancy.
The Face ID has been a cornerstone on the renewed security scheme of the iPhone X and even it is the target of much criticism as well, having been called into question with the most diverse arguments, it seems to be the trend now.
The smartphone market will receive this year several devices with technologies similar to Face ID. Even though there is already technology that puts the Touch ID under the screen, the trend seems not to go by that choice, facial recognition using 3D technologies is the future.
While the gestures have been part of Apple’s DNA since the first iPhone. The truth is that they are so important that the company is removing the physical buttons and increase the tasks performed by a compilation of smart gestures and in the iPhone X this path was clear and assumed.
The market reacts and OnePlus even copied the gestures of iPhone X to allow OnePlus 5T users a richer use.
The gestures came in the third beta of Android Oreo for OnePlus 5T, the latest smartphone from OnePlus. If the new option is enabled, the Android navigation bar will disappear and only finger movements on the screen will allow the same result. So you need to slide up the bottom of the screen to go back to the initial screen, like the iPhone X. If you make the same gesture and stop with your finger pressed halfway, the multitasking option will appear, again as it appears in the iPhone X.
For information, Android smartphones have three buttons on the navigation bar: a back button, a home screen button, and a multitasking button.
How to use more gestures?
There is also a new variant, now there is the swipe of the finger on the lower left corner of the screen. The final version of Android Oreo for the OnePlus 5T will arrive in the coming weeks, but OnePlus has not yet provided a specific date.
The sharing of technologies tends to favour the quality of use and we have seen some technology exploited in the iPhone X to be well used in other devices.
