The Endgame event is part of the v8.50 update which is released for Fortnite on Thursday, 25th. As 100 players are cast on the island as part of the Hero team or the team of the villain, of course, Thanos. Anyone on the Thanos team could simply start out as a Chitauri, armed with a laser rifle, grenades, and a jetpack.
However, you will become the Marvel villain if you find one of the six infinity stones and will gain some powers: destructive punch, more powerful laser beam, and leap that can cause damage to enemies when landing.
Each time an Infinity stone will be located, the Thanos powers will simply grow and the Chitauri will gain more health than its normal health power. Here how they work:-
- The Reality stone (red) simply doubles the health and shields.
- The Soul stone (orange) simply activates the siphon mode, in which the Thanos shield increases while killing enemies.
- The Mind stone (yellow) simply doubles its heel height.
- The Space stone (blue) simply triples the area of impact by one jump, increasing damage by 6x.
- The Time stone (green) simply adds a knockback and increases damage by 3x by hitting an enemy.
- The Power stone (purple) simply increases Thanos laser damage by 6x.
In the meantime, if you are on the Hero team, then, of course, your job will be to stop Thanos and his Chitauri from getting their hands on the infinity stones. As you can use some of the Avengers’ weapons, which are obtained through chests: this includes the Bowman Hawk’s bow, Thor’s Stormbreaker ax, Captain America’s shield, and repulsors of Iron Man.
The two teams will continue to return to Fortnite Island after being killed to complete their respective objectives. If you can kill Thanos, another Chitauri will become the villain after a brief period, unless you are the last player on the team. And if all the stones are found, of course, then the heroes will not return.
Moreover, the Epic Games does not say how long Endgame mode will be available, but given previous events, it should last about a week. As the well-known battle royale game Fortnite can be played on Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS.
