Samsung Galaxy S8 Is So Powerful That It Can Run Windows 10

Previously we have seen that Microsoft and Qualcomm have announced a partnership which will see future mobile phones and computing devices running a full version of Windows 10 OS supported by the next generation of Snapdragon mobile processor.

Terry Myerson, executive vice president of the Windows and Devices Group At Microsoft said “We are excited to bring Windows 10 to the ARM ecosystem with our partner, Qualcomm. Bringing Windows 10 to life with a range of thin, light, power-efficient and always-connected devices … is the next step in delivering the innovations our customers love”

The good news is Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor will power Windows 10 devices later this year. Qualcomm confirmed that Windows 10 devices running Snapdragon 835 chipset will be available in stores later this year.

Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf said “Our Snapdragon 835 is expanding into mobile PC designs running Windows 10, which are scheduled to launch in the fourth calendar quarter this year”

Well, Samsung Galaxy S8 right now features the most powerful processor from Qualcomm, that is Snapdragon 835 chipset. Snapdragon 835 chipset is powerful enough to run Windows 10 efficiently. However, it’s unlikely to see the phone actually running Microsoft’s operating system.

Right now, Samsung Galaxy S8 users can run Windows 10 through DeX feature which allows the phone to turn into a PC when connected to a bigger screen. Dex feature can run full windows 10. However, the whole processing takes place on a different system.
