Meet The World’s First Holographic Smartphone
Investing in a mobile phone is not a trivial matter, especially when we point to smartphones that orbit the upper rank of the market. Big payouts “cost less” when we place trust brands so everything gets uphill when the purchase decision involves a stranger, one like RED.
RED is a recognized as a manufacturer in the field of professional photography and not in the business of smartphones. However, this company announced that in early 2019 will launch the model Hydrogen One, a phone that stands out for having a holographic display.
It is an Android smartphone that the company announces as “the first multidimensional holographic communication device”. At the moment not many details are known about the product, although we do have some things that RED anticipates in its statement, besides the image that we see here.
It is expected that the screen of this smartphone will have holographic capabilities, allowing to change from 2D to 3D, also giving way to interactive experiences. In this order, it is indicated that it will display RV content without the need of additional accessories, such as a headset or glasses.
Company founder Jim Jannard said it can not be explained in words how the screen will work, and that it will have to be seen in person to check it. Something that leaves us wanting to know more, and at this point Jannard said that technology will be used that has not been seen so far and we can not compare for example with what we have seen in the Amazon Fire Phone.
Holograms will not be the only charms of the Hydrogen One, as it promises compatibility with Motorola Modular Accessories (Moto Mods); And the presence of a camera of high quality, something that does not miss considering the cradle of this product. The phone will be integrated and will serve as a control for certain models of RED cameras. Otherwise, it will have multidimensional sound.
There’s no specs, just hype and this one (edited) image. Looks like it has a headphone jack, USB-C and some pins for attachable accessories? pic.twitter.com/3mxw9pbcmg
