The company showed a video some time ago with its CEO playing with the device. Still, the Chinese company, of course, Xiaomi, has just uploaded another new video in which the foldable device is shown in greater detail.

Before continuing, we should remember that the folding smartphone of Xiaomi is different from what was presented by Huawei and the South Korean giant Samsung. While the South Korean giant Samsung’s Galaxy Fold folds inward, the Mate X of Huawei bends out.

We are still unclear about the function of double folding, how the device will work in this position, and its camera configuration. It seems clear that the device will come with a Snapdragon 855 SoC and could debut with Android Q when it goes on sale since the new operating system from the tech giant Google will come fully adapted for folding smartphones, as we have seen in its first beta.
There is no specific release date at the moment, although it is expected that the device will be presented during the year’s second quarter. This means that we could see it between April and June. Its price is a complete mystery, but knowing how the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi spends its exploding market prices, we could be facing the first genuine democratization of a folding smartphone.
