Nokia Lumia 520 became the best-selling Windows phone in 2013 now it has been largely forgotten. Nokia Lumia 520 was updated to WP 8.1 just after a year of its launch. However, Nokia Lumia 520 never got the Windows 10 treatment.
However, have you ever thought? After almost 4 years, some programmer will get the latest version of Android that is Android 7.0 Nougat running on it? Well, let me tell you someone had successfully managed to run Android 7.1 Nougat in a Nokia Lumia 520 which is a Windows phone.
The video came from Phone Arena and it clearly shows Nokia Lumia 520 running Android Nougat 7.1 and the Windows phone managed the things quite well. You can see the performance is pretty good at first glance. Therefore, it’s a living proof that even an old Windows phone can run latest Android.
If you are thinking that you can also run Android 7.1 Nougat in Windows phone then let me tell you that you simply can’t do it! because the video uploaded says it’s quite “Hard” to get Android Nougat running on Lumia 520.
The video uploaded also stated that Lumia is quite unstable, which means that you will experience frequent crashes and other similar things. Moreover, it’s not clear if all features including phone calls and camera work efficiently.
Right now there are plenty of Windows phone owners out there who would gladly try to install Android on their devices if there was any easy alternative available. For now, there is no information regarding how to get Android running on a Windows phone and the video is the only proof that is available.
For Nokia users, there is also a healthy alternative available. Next year we will get to see Nokia devices running Android. Let’s just hope they don’t disappoint.
