A couple of days ago a friend told me that he had bought the new iPhone 8 but its glass back gave him a bit of fear and due to which he would not use it without a case. Now, when I tell you this, I’m sure he puts it back in the box and waits for the cover to arrive.

Well, in reality, the new design of the iPhone 8 is not to bring anything new to the issue but the glass back of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus has made things a bit difficult for the issue of resistance. The crystal makes the phones more beautiful and can integrate wireless charging easily but are more fragile which is not a secret.

The glass back of the iPhone 8 is tough but changing it is very expensive

Yes, the tech giant Apple says it has manufactured one of the strongest glass backs in the history of mobile telephony but that does not mean it is more resistant to shock than aluminum and certainly, in the not too distant future, we will get tired of seeing many iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus with the back part made a mess.

In normal words, the tech giant Apple has just aggravated the risk of breakage and that is undeniable. The problem is that changing the screen of an iPhone when you have AppleCare is not very expensive but changing this glass does not have the same price, it costs much more.

According to the AppleInsider portal, several Apple employees have claimed that a broken glass back will cost about $129 with AppleCare+ $99 extra to repair it while changing a screen will cost only $29 extra. As for repairing the damage, the price amounts to $349 for the iPhone 8 and $399 for the iPhone 8 Plus. Yes, you heard correctly, it will cost you about $228 if you have Apple Care.

The problem of changing this crystal does not seem to be the cost of the glass but the difficulty to remove the glass plate that uses a large amount of glue to be properly anchored to the metal. In any case, you just have to remember the time of the iPhone 4 and those screens with frost, so, it seems that the worst of Apple has returned!

The difficulty to change this plate and the price increase by the tech giant Apple make me very funny, basically, it is they who design the device and I think that, at the time of doing so, they were already aware of how complicated it would be to replace this part.
