As we all know Google Pixel series of smartphones are very close to Google’s heart. So, the company had decided to teach a good lesson to those who tried to be over smart.

Don’t Mess With Google: Google Bans Accounts Of Oversmart People

Google’s latest smartphone pixel and Pixel XL which was launched previous month and some customers purchased Pixel phones from Google’s Project Fi and shipped them directly to a reseller based in New Hampshire, where there is no sales tax.

According to money-saving site Dan’s Deals they explain that the reseller was able to make some small amount of profit on the phones, which it split with the customers who had ordered the devices.

The arrangements are against Google’s terms of service because Google states that customers “may only purchase Devices for your personal use [and] may not commercially resell any Device”

When Google came to know about such people they took no time to block their Google account. As reported by Dan’s Deals, several users posted on their forum that they can’t access their accounts from past few days.

Around 200 users were denied to use any Google services which include Google Photos, Gmail, Documents, Google Drive etc. A User also reported that the account suspension was not only limited to a single account, he was also locked out from the other Gmail account that he used for password recovery.

The owner of Dan’s Deals, Dan Eleff thinks that it’s a “heavy-handed” act by google, though, he doesn’t defend the policy violation by people. Dan Eleff said “it’s the 21st-century version of losing priceless mementos in a house fire”

Dan Eleff in a further update said that Google has reinstated the suspended accounts. In a statement issued him, Google said that they restore access to genuine accounts after doing investigations

“We identified a scheme in which consumers were asked to purchase Pixel devices on behalf of a reseller, who then marked-up the cost of those devices in order to resell them to other customers. We prohibit the commercial resale of devices purchased through Project Fi or the Google Store so everyone has an equal opportunity to purchase devices at a fair price. Many of the accounts suspended were created for the sole purpose of this scheme. After investigating the situation, we are restoring access to genuine accounts for customers who are locked out of many Google services they rely on.”
