Intel Coffee Lake 8th-Generation Launch Date Revealed

The giant chip maker Intel announced, on August 21st the giant chip maker Intel will launch the Intel Core Coffee Lake processor family that the tech giant Apple could use in future for its iMac and MacBook Pro, and will live on the social network giant Facebook (17.00 CEST) and on its website.

During the event, Gregory Bryant, the senior vice president of the giant chip maker Intel’s Client Computing Group and content creators, will show what can be done with next generation processors under Virtual Reality and Imaging.

The announcement, which seems to have been planned earlier than expected to counter AMD, should focus on the first eighth generation Core CPUs designed for notebooks (one of the graphics used to advertise the event is a side notebook).

A place where we will surely see products with new processors is the IFA in Berlin at the end of August. At the moment it is unclear whether the giant chip maker Intel will also announce desktop version processors, but the rumors seem to agree that for these models it will be necessary to wait a few more months.

The eighth generation Intel Core processors, which is code-named as Coffee Lake, will continue to leverage 14-nanometer technology as the current Kaby Lake solutions are now available.

This should be a transitional architecture, awaiting Cannon Lake with a 10 nm constructive process and resulting in lower electrical power consumption and operating temperatures, as well as the ability to integrate a number of transistors resulting in increased processing power which could be quantified in 30%.
