Jack Ma: Future Will Be More “Painful” And Robots Will Steal CEO Jobs

Without any doubt, Artificial intelligence and robotics are advancing at a rapid pace. This is what lets critics say that rapid advances in AI and robotics can simply lead to widespread job losses. Recently, we have also seen, a public sector in the United Kingdom reported that Robots could replace 250,000 civil servants and it is just the beginning.

Critics started to assume that either robotics will simply build and develop a clean and advanced world or else it will simply destroy everything related to humans. We have seen Elon Musk is busy connecting our brains with machines, or Bill Gates suggesting robot tax.

Recently, 52-year-old Jack Ma, chairman of the Alibaba Group talked about how robots and automation can affect our future. Jack Ma suggested that we must introduce new ways to work better with robots. Jack Ma said(in Chinese) in reference to the technology disrupting our jobs:

“In the next 30 years, the world will see much more pain than happiness. Social conflicts in the next three decades will have an impact on all sorts of industries and walks of life”. Jack Ma also recalled the time when he warned people about the impacts of e-commerce on traditional business.

“Fifteen years ago I gave speeches 200 or 300 times reminding everyone the Internet will impact all industries, but people didn’t listen because I was a nobody”. Well, it’s interesting to see Jack Ma warned about the impacts of e-commerce, but his company is now China’s biggest e-commerce portal.

Jack Ma recommends that robots shouldn’t be designed to do things that humans can do, instead, they should be capable of doing what humans can’t do. In that way, humans and machine can build a partnership.

Later Jack Ma also warned that CEOs will be replaced by Robots “30 years later, the Time Magazine cover for the best CEO of the year very likely will be a robot, It remembers better than you, it counts faster than you, and it won’t be angry with competitors.”
