The last few months have not been simple for Kaspersky. After several accusations of association with the Russian government and what it would be spying on for this, a case recently emerged that associated with its theft of NSA data.

The security company now wants to clean up its image and for that, it has decided to put its code open and for evaluation, to prove that the accusations made are unfounded.

This new position of Kaspersky intends to show that the Russian security company is not related to all the accusations that have been made to it and that its products are not spying on the users.

The way that Eugene Kaspersky and his team found it was by opening the source code of their applications for independent evaluation and hoping to reveal that they are free from any form of remote control or data theft.

From what has been announced, this evaluation is expected to take place in the first quarter of next year and should be carried out by an internationally recognized authority. There is, however, no more data on how it will be processed and who the chosen authority is.

In addition to this opening, the security firm Kaspersky has also increased the prizes awarded to those who discover security holes in their products. The value was $5,000 and is now at $100,000.

Up to 202 will also be created three transparency centers where the security firm Kaspersky’s customers and partners will be able to access their source code and evaluate the updates and rules for detecting threats.

With all these changes the security firm Kaspersky seeks to restore the confidence of consumers and government entities. The case of the NSA data theft is still fresh and allegations of association with the Russian government are still widely spoken.
