This year we will see a new Google Pixel series smartphone (Pixel 2) from the tech giant Google, as recently, it was confirmed by the former Motorola CEO Rick Osterloh, who is currently the head of Google’s hardware department.

Pixel 2 Is Coming This Year, Confirms Google

The arrival of the Pixel has brought Google to a different level and where it is much more complicated to keep up. With strong competition and always to stay up to date, it was important that these smartphones were unique.

If Pixel’s success is in sight, it’s time for Google to start preparing its successor. The confirmation that the tech giant Google will launch this year a new Pixel and this new report has come from within the company itself.

Introduced in September last year, the new Pixel is the natural heirs to everything that the tech giant Google started with the Nexus line. However, these are top smartphones, and they want to compete with what is best in the market, giving Google a prominent position.

The success was immediate, and therefore there was doubt whether Google would create new models and what could these phones bring. Confirmation that there will be a new Pixel in 2017 came from former Motorola CEO Rick Osterloh, who is currently head of Google’s hardware department.

Here is what the head of Google’s hardware department, Rick Osterloh stated “There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it. Hence, you can rely on a successor this year, even if you do not hear the date from me now”.

The tech giant Google will have the same arguments as the competition and will launch a new Pixel in 2017, probably around the same time when the previous model was introduced.

In addition to confirming that a new smartphone is coming from Google, Rick Osterloh has revealed yet another piece of information that ruins some of the ideas that have come up.

Pixel 2 will maintain the philosophy of the 2016 model and will continue to be a premium smartphone. There will not be a gamma input model, as happened with the Nexus 6P and 5X.

Google wants the Pixel to compete with the Galaxy S line and the iPhone itself, showing that it has created the best smartphone that can run Android, beating the competition.
