The largest investment was made in security and protection of user data, an area where Google has been criticized. To ensure this additional security, Google bet on encryption of data, which the Pixel comes natively.
This encryption will be used at various levels of Android not limited to user data. In Pixel it comes to the operating system itself, which ensures that it can hardly be attacked or altered, and used several keys that detect these changes and protect Android.
There is also the introduction of TrustZone, a novelty that ensures that the system code can be run safely even if the Android kernel has been infected. The TrustZone also ensures that the operating system encryption keys are not released when it detects a change.
