The PlayStation 5 will come in two versions: with a 4K Blu-ray drive and the other one is a pure Digital Edition. The variant without the optical drive looks thinner than the regular model.

As the drive is removed from the PS5, the Digital Edition might be cheaper. However, Sony hasn’t revealed the price yet. At the live event, Sony has just revealed the design no other details are out yet. Not even the release date or the exact price of the PS5 variant.

PS5 can be placed horizontally or vertically under a TV or a monitor, just like the Xbox Series X. Sony has also built a stand which works for adjustments and a slightly different stand for the Digital Edition also. On the top of PS5 unit, there are vents for heat dissipation with USB-A and USB-c ports at the front side.

At the live event, Sony said, “The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.”

There are different types of accessories for PS5 like DualSense charging, a new HD camera, a Pulse 3D wireless headset, and a media remote. However, Sony has not revealed the price of accessories and the launch date is also not announced. Whether they will launch the accessories with PS5 consoles or not, we don’t know.

The design of Sony’s PS5 comes after Microsoft revealed the PC-like look of the next-gen console, the Xbox Series X.
