Samsung Preparing Two More New Foldable Smartphones
One of the most trending phrases during the last weeks has been the “flexible technology and devices”. Though it is still early to say, but it seems that the commitment of the big smartphone manufacturers with folding smartphones is strong and will not remain in beta or testing phase.
Hence, this is concluded from the latest information that comes from the South Korean giant Samsung, which say that the South Korean giant Samsung is working on the development of two new folding smartphones.
The technology of folding smartphones is so new that the user has not had time to judge which bet is best suited to their needs. As main references, we have the Huawei Mate X that folds out and the Samsung Galaxy Fold that folds inward, basically, they both are based on the same technology but with little different concepts. As both devices have not yet hit the market, but their successors may already be working on their next generation folding devices.
The information to which the well-known media portal, of course, Bloomberg has had access, simply assures that the South Korean giant Samsung is already developing a foldable device “shell type” and the other one will be based on the concept of the Huawei Mate X.
Before something that has never been put in the hands of the user, it seems that smartphone manufacturers will offer different models to find the perfect folding device. The shell type design succeeded in the mid-90s has already patents folding versions as we have seen in the case of Motorola.
The same media reports that the South Korean giant Samsung plans to reveal its new folding smartphone later this year, apparently the company has a much thinner prototype, as it will not have any additional screen. Another one of the changes that the South Korean giant Samsung intends to implement is the on-screen fingerprint sensor for its folding device, just as it has done with the new flagship smartphone, of course, Galaxy S10.
Moreover, the well-known media portal, Bloomberg’s sources indicate that the well-known South Korean giant Samsung is planning to produce at least 1 million folding smartphones for this year.
Meanwhile, the company is working on improving the durability of the Galaxy Fold screen. We recently learned that the famous firm Corning is already working on Gorilla Glass crystals adapted to folding smartphones.
However, the South Korean giant Samsung would have been working with Google for eight years to adapt the Android operating system to flexible displays. This process will require time, taking into account that neither the South Korean giant Samsung nor the tech giant Google knows for sure what type of design will finally strike consumers.
