Here’s Why Apple Rejects Valve’s Steam Link Game Streaming App

After Valve introduced Steam Link to mobile platforms, news surfaced that the tech giant Apple had rejected the app.

However, the tech giant Apple’s marketing manager, Phill Schiller has now come to explain why this rejection occurs.

Valve recently unveiled Steam Link, a major evolution in the world of games that allows playing on the smartphone Steam account games.

Following an announcement for both mobile platforms, Android and iOS, the news came that the application for iOS had been rejected by the tech giant Apple, thus preventing its installation.

In order to clarify this matter, an official of the tech giant Apple has already explained the reason that led to its rejection.

Apple explains why it rejected the Steam Link

According to Phill Schiller, chief marketing officer at Apple, initial approval was given to Valve’s application prior to its submission, however, subsequently, some problems were identified that led to its rejection.

These issues are related to violation of various guidelines on user content generation, in-app purchases, content code, and more.

However, according to the statement, Apple will already be working together with Valve to resolve the issues and launch this application on their operating system.

“We care deeply about bringing great games to all of our users on the App Store. We would love for Valve’s games and services to be on iOS and AppleTV. Unfortunately, the review team found that Valve’s Steam iOS app, the currently submitted, violates a number of guidelines around user-generated content, in-app purchases, content codes, etc.

We’ve discussed these issues with Valve and will continue to work with them to help bring the Steam experience to iOS and AppleTV in a way that complies with the store’s guidelines. We put great effort into creating an App Store that provides the very best experience for everyone.

We have clear guidelines that all developers should follow in order to ensure the App Store is a safe place for all users and a fair opportunity for all developers.”

Although there is no set deadline, corrections should already be made by Valve and very soon we can see this application also in iOS.
