We all know very well that the tech giant Microsoft is making a subtle but essential and new change in Windows 10 design, as the taskbar search field, the weather app, and the Edge browser are adopting elements with rounded corners, leaving aside one of the most striking visual aspects of Windows 8. And not only that, but even the system icons will also get 3D effects like the Office example.

The tech giant Microsoft is making a subtle but significant change in Windows 10 design. The taskbar search field, the weather app, and the Edge browser are adopting elements with rounded corners, leaving aside one of the most striking visual aspects of Windows 8.

And not only that, but even the system icons will also get 3D effects like the Office example. Of course, Zac Bowden of the well-known media portal, Windows Central, has posted on Twitter that the tech giant Microsoft is testing a screen-centric search interface.

This is present in the preview of the 20H1 version, which will be released in 2020. Before the search was in the lower left corner, next to Cortana, but the personal assistant is now separated into an icon.

There is another visible change: the rounded corners. And not only that, this includes Windows, Office, and Xbox. Bowden said this “seems to be a growing trend in the tech giant Microsoft’s design. Hope to see it show up in more areas of the tech giant Microsoft-s software in the coming weeks, months, and years.”

For example, the Microsoft Edge with Chromium has tabs and text fields with rounded corners; hence, Snowden of the well-known media portal Android Central says this will stay in the future.

Moreover, a user noticed that the Weather app has rounded corners in the search field. And in a screenshot released recently by the tech giant Microsoft, the search field in the taskbar also appears with rounded corners. The image demonstrates how PCs can receive notifications from Android through its Phone application.

Bowden also said that the all-new rounded corners would be more present in Fluent Design, a language that adopts translucent elements, light effects, and depth layers. And not only that, it has been steadily incorporated into Windows 10 over the last few years.

The tech giant Microsoft’s well-known Windows 10 will also gain new icons with 3D effects, just like Office. Jon Friedman, head of Office design at the tech giant Microsoft, said in December that there will be “an effort among various parts of the company to update all the icons in the same style.”
