Intel plans in the short-term and medium term could be adjusted after seeing as AMD already declared its new Ryzen with extra cores of what it owes high and blowing up the battlefield.
If you remember, a few days ago at Intel had unveiled its first 18-core core i9 processor at the Computex event. Let me tell you, Core i9 family is the most powerful consumer PC chips ever made which consists up to 18 cores and 36 threads.
There are five core i9 processors which will feature 10 core or more. The higher version which is Core i9-79780XE features 18 cores, 36 threads and has a TPU of 165 watts, which is a lot compared to current Intel’s CPUs.
If we talk about the specifications of Intel’s new i9 chips, it comes with 3.3GHz base clock speeds which have the ability to reach up to 4.3Ghz dual-core speeds with Turbo Boost 2.0 and it can reach up to 4.5Ghz speeds with Turbo Boost 3.0.
So, if you are a gamer or an intense multi-tasker then you can go for this processor. If you are average users then this processor is not for you because this is not meant for casual usages.
The new Core i9 family uses a new Socket R4, a 2066-pin LGA socket, and a new motherboard because it is not compatible with existing Kaby Lake or Skylake motherboards. If we talk about the availability of the new processors, the 12-core i9-7920X will go on sale in August. The other three high-end processors are expected to go on sale from October.
The new Core i9 family will be available at the price of anything between $999 to $1699. Whereas the most powerful one (i9-79780XE) will cost you around $1,999.
