Intel Just Launched New Xeon D Chips For Powerful ‘Edge Computing’

Recently, the giant chip maker, of course, Intel today unveiled its new range of SoC, and not only that the main thing is that along with this new range the giant chip maker, of course, Intel also launched its new Intel Xeon D-2100 processor, a chip (SoC) designed to meet the needs of Edge applications and other data center applications or networks limited by space and power.

Xeon D-2100 is the new generation of Intel Xeon processors

The giant chip maker Intel’s new range SoC or processor, of course, I am talking about the Xeon D-2100 processor is an enhanced version of current Intel Xeon, where network operators and cloud service providers face the need to continually grow in performance and capacity without increasing power consumption.

Hence, the giant chip maker Intel today launched the new Xeon-D family with integrated Intel Mesh technology. Now, let me clarify you about this Mesh technology, actually, in this technology all CPUs will increase up to 3.0 GHz in single-wire applications, but the highest turbo for all cores is 2.8 GHz. The base clock ranges from 1.6 GHz to 2.2 GHz.

The giant chip maker, Intel’s Xeon D-2100 series is divided into three groups: Edge Servers, Network Edge and SKUs compatible with Intel Quick Assist.

Characteristics:-

  • Up to 18 cores and 36 threads
  • Up to 512 GB DD4-2666 four-channel ECC
  • Up to 3.0 GHz speed with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 single-core technology
  • Up to 32 PCI Express 3.0 lanes
  • Up to 20 flexible and configurable high-speed power I/O lanes
  • Intel Mesh Architecture
  • Intel 14nm optimized technology

The prices of these new chips will vary depending on the model, from $213 (Xeon D-2123IT) to more advanced models of $2,400 (Xeon D-2191).

So, what do you think about this new processor of the giant chip maker? Simply share all your views and thoughts in the comment section below.
