Since they emerged, one of the biggest concerns associated with mobile phones are the harmful effects of radiation on the brain. The studies follow, not always with similar conclusions and always without being able to have an affirmative answer.

A list now published has shown which current-day smartphones emits the highest radiation. However, apart from all the smartphones, if I will say you the name of the topmost smartphone with the highest emission rate, then I am sure it will blow your mind, as the top of the list belongs to the well known OnePlus 5T.

The radiation emitted by smartphones is taken for granted and most brands try to minimize their spread. The recommended maximum standards are defined and therefore the measurements follow, always based on these values.

The list now presented shows clearly who dominates, by the negative, this table, with values even higher than what would be allowed and that is defined in the standards.

To top this list we have the OnePlus 5T, as we told earlier, which claims for itself 168 W/kg. This is followed by several Chinese brands, which dominate this list, taking 9 out of 15 outfits.

Also, other well-known brands are present, among them the tech giant Apple. The American brand is represented by the iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 Plus, which have 1.38 W/kg, 1.32 W/kg and 1.24 W/kg respectively.

All this information was collected by the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), which has a vast database of equipment. This entity sets the maximum value of 0.60 W/kg for its Blue Angel certification. The FCC, the North American similar entity, establishes the value of 1.6 W/kg as the maximum acceptable for emission of radiation.
