Twitter is reportedly planning to charge $20 to the users who own verification badges and or want verification badges. In exchange, these paid users will also get some additional features.
As we all know, Elon Musk successfully acquired Twitter last week, and now he is expecting many new changes in the platform as he wants. One change that comes out is charging for account verification.
Verified Twitter Users Would Have To Pay Monthly Charges
This information is coming from a report from Platformer, and further, it also noted that this would be a new tier to Twitter Blue, and the $4.99 monthly subscription will also stay on the platform.
As I already mentioned above, this subscription will cost the user $20 per month and will provide all the features from the above plan and maybe more, but the significant point is that it also includes verification for the account.
But that doesn’t mean you can buy verification for an account; its process will still require all authority checking.
And the controversial point of this subscription is that the current verified users will lose their blue verified mark if they don’t subscribe to this subscription in the next 90 days.
Currently, there are no hints about when this change will arrive on the platform, but it is expected to arrive on November 7, as reports say Musk has given the team an ultimatum to work on this feature.
It seems interesting that account verification was always free on the platform in the past, and now, in Musk’s ownership, it is becoming paid, and even earlier verified also have to pay for it.

He also tweeted that “the bird is freed,” which makes different opinions in every different mind. Did Musk actually made the bird free? What do you think about it? Let me know in the comment section below.
