The Vivo NEX S is one of the flashy smartphones when it comes to solving the problem of those who do not like screens with notch. It comes with the fingerprint reader on the screen itself and has just passed a durability test, with the expected result for a high-end device.
If you followed a scene from the World Cup that ended on Sunday (15), certainly you might have noticed the advertisement of Vivo NEX S that was on the edge of the field. It is one of the first smartphones with the screen without the notch, a camera that jumps out of the body and fingerprint reader inside the display itself.
In addition, the handset comes with Snapdragon 845 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal memory. The screen is 6.59-inches and showed that the protection that the manufacturer puts on the device has brought promising results.
A well-known YouTube channel JerryRigEverything has posted a durability test packed with scratches, bends and even an unimportant test that uses a lighter to see how much the screen loses color. The NEX S bravely resisted the risks divided into nine levels of intensity, arriving with no visible mark up to the sixth level – Apple’s sapphire glass reaches the eighth level.

The set of tests still put to the test the most curious point: the mobile camera. As this device don’t have any notch, the NEX S uses a mechanism that lifts and then hides the front camera – and at certain times, lifts alone. YouTuber has turned the smartphone on several occasions and at several different product locations without any damage to the track that lifts the camera.
There are also more scratch tests on the sides, which have resisted exactly how a metallic body should withstand on phones that are more expensive. The NEX S was launched in June of this year and is sold only in Asian markets and part of Eastern Europe. The list of locations includes Russia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India, Taiwan and China itself, where Vivo is headquartered.
