We all know very well that with Windows 10 on ARM, the tech giant Microsoft hopes to create low-cost devices that deliver enough performance for day-to-day tasks with good autonomy. However, now according to the latest reports, recently a hacker managed to run Windows 10 ARM on a Lumia 950.

With Windows 10 on ARM, the tech giant Microsoft hopes to create low-cost devices that deliver enough performance for day-to-day tasks with good autonomy.

After launching the first solutions on PCs, a programmer was able to put this operating system into operation on a Lumia 950 smartphone.

The tech giant Microsoft has been trying to adapt its operating system to work in SoC ARM. Although the performance of these processors still does not resemble the major Intel i-range processors, the truth is that they are already able to handle most day-to-day tasks, with the advantage of having far greater autonomy.

After some time of development, the first equipment with this system began to leave in December, following in line with the deadlines disclosed. However, contrary to what was expected, this system eventually brings more limitations than had been disclosed, resembling Windows 10S or reminding the RT versions.

Although the list of devices supporting this system is still limited and computer-centric, a programmer has managed to put Windows 10 on ARM running on a Lumia 950 smartphone.

Video shows Lumia 950 running Windows 10 on ARM

Shared by the user Hikari_Calyx on Twitter, an unidentified user was able to run Windows 10 on ARM64 on a Lumia 950 (RX-130 MSM8994).

Although not everyone was convinced initially that this would be true, a video made available showed that the project was real and that this process was even possible.

Unfortunately, the programmer declined to share the UEFI that allows other users to follow the same process. According to Hikari_Calyx, the unknown programmer just made the process real to show the potential of this old top of the range of the tech giant Microsoft.

Although they have been discontinued, many users argue that the potential of the tech giant Microsoft’s smartphones has never been fully exploited. This is a clear example of this theory after a user has taken a Lumia 950 and has made it into a real Surface Phone.
