Huawei Just Unveiled Its First 5G Chip For Mobile Devices
The well-known giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei announced this Sunday in the framework of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) the first commercial terminal device that supports the NSA standard for telecommunications established by the 3GPP association for the new 5G mobile technology, its CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) 5G, with that the Chinese technology company sets the stage for the next generation of wireless connectivity.
The CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu, stressed that the 5G technology will define “the next leap towards a smarter world” in which people, vehicles, houses and devices are completely connected, thus generating new experiences, knowledge and skills for all.”
In this context, he also stressed that Huawei has since 2009 investing in research and development of 5G technologies and only in 2017 has reached 600 million dollars, a figure expected to increase to 800 million dollars in 2019.
“From connected vehicles and smart homes to virtual reality, augmented reality and holograms, we are committed to developing a 5G ecosystem that allows consumers to benefit from a world truly connected which will forever change the way we communicate,” the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, Richard Yu said.
The well-known giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has developed a 5G device strategy that uses the high speed, low latency and great connectivity of 5G to create more varied connected experiences for users. This strategy includes smartphones, mobile WiFi, industrial modules and other devices to connect people and objects with their homes, vehicles, among others.
The well-known giant Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei has partnered with more than 30 telecom operators around the world. In 2017, it began testing 5G business networks with partners; promote the development of the industry and finalize the interoperability tests to start offering the first round of 5G commercial networks in 2019.
Regarding the CPE 5G, to ensure maximum performance, it has used its own Balong 5G01 chipset, the first commercial chipset in the world that supports the 3GPP standard for 5G, with theoretical downlink speeds of up to 2.3 Gbps. It is compatible with 5G in all frequency bands, including sub-6GHz and millimetre waves (mmWave), to offer a complete 5G solution suitable for all kinds of uses.
