According to a well-known journalist Mark Gurman, iPhone 15’s high-end model would be called “Ultra” in replacement of “Pro Max”. Besides he also mentioned the details about the potential charging port of the iPhone 15.
It’s been a month since Apple launched iPhone 14, and now the details about iPhone 15 have started coming, so let’s delve into every initial detail below.
Apple Could Replace Next Year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max With “Ultra”
These details came from the latest newsletter from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in which he was discussing Apple’s pattern & new design for iPhone 15.
And he mentioned that “We can expect a revamped iPhone design next year, coinciding with a shift to USB-C and the potential of a new Ultra model replacing the Pro Max.”
Based on Apple’s track record, it has never used this name in the past for iPhones, but the company has used this “Ultra” term for naming other products, such as the recently launched Apple Watch Ultra and its most powerful chip, M1 Ultra.
This means Apple uses this “Ultra” term in the name of its high-end products, and as we all know iPhone’s Pro Max model is the high-end model in the last five years’ iPhone series.
And with this idea, we might see this new name for iPhone 15’s high-end model. Besides, in the iPhone 14 series, Apple has introduced a new model with a new name, which means changing a name is not a big deal for them.
Also, we might see some changes in its design based on its Ultra name, which Mark also pointed out in his newsletter.
Separately, with this iPhone series, we could see a significant shift for iPhones, a USB-C connectivity & charging system replacing the Lightning Port.
On the other side, there are rumors that Apple will shift to a wireless charging system for iPhones. Recently, Ross Young has also mentioned some details about the iPhone 15’s notch design and Dynamic Island.
