In recent times with so many similar smartphones, there is still room for other formats, including those with the physical keyboard. This is the proposal of Planet Computers, which introduced the Cosmo Communicator.
The smartphone that has backlit QWERTY keyboard and comes as an evolution of Gemini, launched by Planet itself. Like the predecessor, the Cosmo Communicator is a flip phone but offers more control over incoming calls and notifications.

In addition to the 6-inch AMOLED internal display and 18:9 ratio, the handset features an external 2-inch touch screen for quick information. With it, you can quickly know who is calling or sending a message.
The Cosmo has an external camera of 24 megapixels and internal of 5 megapixels. On the outside of the device, there is a fingerprint reader that also serves to answer or cancel calls.
For the new handset, Planet included a MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core processor which is clocked at 2.0 GHz frequency and 6 GB of RAM. The model has 128 GB of storage, has support for microSD card and also supports dual-SIM (the second carrier is included with an eSIM).
The device has a battery of 4220mAh and has 3.5mm jack for headphones and two USB-C type port. Moreover, it leaves the factory with Android 9.0 Pie and is compatible with Linux platforms, such as Sailfish OS and Debian.

While this awesome device is available in silver and gold colors, Cosmo Communicator is in a collective financing campaign on IndieGogo. From there, its price starts from $549 and is expected to be delivered only to May 2019.
